How does a maize milling plant work?

To the maize milling plant, it’s a complete production line from cleaning, milling to packing, which controlled by the Central Cabinet.

Here let’s talk about how the maize milling plant work.

Firstly, all the machines are controlled by the Central Cabinet.

Power control is completed by central cabinet. It's composed of AC. contactor, thermal relay, fuse, etc. The control button is a master switch.

The indicating device for the operation conditions is pilot lamps on the model plate in the front of central cabinet. There is a pilot lamp fixed in the material bin for showing switching state of central cabinet, the others show the switching state of electric motor.

Well, when the central cabinet is ready, then we can start to run the single machines of the maize milling plants one by one.

1.Run with non-load of the maize milling plant

Verify three-phase voltage is in balance, and the voltage is not more than 10% ~ 5% of rated value. Then start the maize milling plant in the following order:

1)Maize cleaning part and degerminating part

2)Bucket Elevator→ maize cleaning → Bucket elevator → maize Damper → No.5 Low pressure blower →degermiantor → Bucket Elevator →

2)Flour milling part

High pressure Blower → Motor for flour mills→ high pressure blower → Motor for air seal → No.2 double bin sifter → No.1 double bin sifter → 4th Break  → 3rd Break → 2nd Break → 1st Break

2.Run with load of the maize milling plant

1)Cleaning part of the maize milling plant

Open the feeding gate of raw grain, control the flow to be less than the rated flow. After all the machines have material to process, adjust the gate up to a proper flow step by step.

The maize goes into combined cleaner, the small and the large impurities will be cleaned. Adjust the feeding position to make the maize grains well-scattered on the sieving surface. Adjust the air gate to make the light impurities go out through the air suction pipe. Often check the leftover and guarantee that complete grain in leftover is less than 1%.

After cleaned by Combined cleaner, maize grains flow into damper and maize grains become wet.

After the moisture content is adjusted by damper, maize grains go into the tempering (conditioning) bin. The tempering duration should be controlled within 10-60 minutes. You can make the tempering duration longer (for low temperature) or shorter (for high temperature) according to your local air temperature, and make sure the moisture content of maize is 16±1%. For usual operation, you start the maize peeler separator when the level of maize is up to 1/2 of the tempering bin.

2)Milling part of the maize milling plant 

Open the control gate of the bin, maize grains flow down to the 1st roller mill. For the operation of roller mill, please see the operation manual of roller mill. When the equipment is running, check if the grinding effect on the two ends of roller is uniform. If not, adjust the pressure of spring and make incoming material well scattered on the whole length of roller. Keep a even flow for each milling system. 

3)Adjustment of air-net of the maize milling plant

Feed material from small to big. After all pipes have material inside, you increase the flow to a proper one.

In production, keep the flow of each system be stable and in balance. The change of feeding material is not more than 10-20%.

While there is material falling in some conveying pipes of air net, you can adjust the butterfly valve getting larger or make relevant air gate getting small. Then the whole air net will be in balance.

But during the running, When one machine occurs troubles, the relative indicator lamp flashes and alarm bells ring. The alarm system, including sound-light alarm system, can show the working condition of machine at any time. The big button fixed at center of the central is a general power switch, it's prepared for urgent conditions.
